What is manufacturer’s warranty?

Manufacturer’s warranty is a limited warranty that covers manufacturing defects in the device or defects that may arise due to workmanship or materials used. For example, if any internal component such as speaker, LCD, etc malfunctions within the length of the warranty, the device would be covered under manufacturer’s warranty. Under manufacturer’s warranty, a device is eligible for repair or replacement in the same country it was originally meant to be sold in. So, a US spec phone will have to be sent to the manufacturer in US for a claim.

Why Extended Warranty? What's the difference between Extended and Manufacturer's Warranty?

Extended warranty is an alternative to the manufacturer’s warranty provided by a third party. Gsm Nation has partnered with CPS Central (Cpscentral.com) to provide Extended Warranty.. The primary advantages of CPS Central extended warranty over a manufacturer’s warranty are:

International Coverage

You do not have to worry about sending your device back to the country of original sale to make a claim. You can send it to the office of the extended warranty provider in your own country and they will take care of everything. This offers the advantage of convenience, faster service as well as low shipping costs.

No Hassle

You do not have to go through the hassle of dealing with the manufacturer. The extended warranty provider will do that for you!

Unlocked Phones

If you are using an unlocked phone on a different network than the one it was initially locked to, you might face difficulty in dealing with the original network. If you have to return the phone to the network, you have to have an account number with the network. Extended warranty removes this difficulty as you only deal with CPS Central.
