Cydia’s Creator Demonstrates iPhone 4 Jailbreak

You will find many iPhone jailbreaking guides on the web. But most of them are unreliable and might present troublesome problems for new iPhone owners.

If you are not familiar with Cydia, it is the store for apps not authorized by Apple. Basically, Cydia is what you jailbreak your phone for. Recognizing that there were many iPhone owners unable to find reliable jailbreaking guides and unable to take advantage of Cydia, Cydia’s owner (Jay Freeman) decided to take matters into his own hands.

Freeman recorded the video regarding the iPhone 4 jailbreak being developed by @comex, @musclenerd, and @planetbeing. His mention of this jailbreak makes it reliable. Check out the video to find what Freeman had to say about the jailbreaking process.

Apple Waives iPhone 4 Restocking Fee

Apple is still getting complaints for its latest product, iPhone 4. For people who are not familiar with the issue, this is what has been bugging iPhone 4 owners: because the phone’s antenna is located at the bottom of the phone’s back, holding it regularly (with your palm covering the bottom back) one experiences great signal strength reduction. Most users get their calls dropped when this happens while others get breaking voices or low call volumes.

The company recently investigated the issue thoroughly and discovered that the signal bars on the set did not correspond to the actual signal strength i.e. the signal bars calculation formula was incorrect. Apple has now promised to correct the formula and roll out an iOS update anytime soon.

But his ‘explanation’ does not cover call drops at all. This is why many people want to return their phones. Previously buyers could not return their phones without paying a restocking fee of 10% (typically $19.90 for a returned 16GB iPhone 4 model and $29.90 for a 32GB device.). To appease its customers Apple has now waived this restocking fee and offered a full refund to anybody who returns his / her iPhone in the first 30 days of the set’s purchase.
